Sunny Deol Shares Emotional Video of Dharmendra Requesting Indians and Pakistanis to Watch ‘Ikkis’
Veteran actor Dharmendra’s last film Ikkis is ready for release, and his son Sunny Deol recently shared a touching video remembering him. The film stars Agastya Nanda, Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, and marks his big Bollywood debut.
Dharmendra’s heartfelt message
Sunny Deol posted a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram from the shoot of Ikkis. In the video, Dharmendra is seen expressing his happiness about working with director Sriram Raghavan and the Maddock Films team. Smiling warmly, he said, “I’m extremely happy to be part of Maddock Films. The team and the director Sriram ji made it a memorable experience.”
The veteran actor also made a special appeal, saying, “I think both Indians and Pakistanis should watch this film. I’m feeling happily sad today as it's my last day of shooting. I love you all — if I’ve ever made any mistake, please forgive me.”
This emotional message quickly touched fans’ hearts as Dharmendra’s wish reflected his lifelong love for people across borders.
Sunny Deol’s tribute to his father
Alongside the video, Sunny Deol wrote a loving caption dedicated to his legendary father. He called Dharmendra “a smile that lit up the darkness” and “generosity without limits.” He also mentioned that his father had blessed everyone with his last film, Ikkis, and urged people to celebrate him by watching the movie in theatres this New Year.
Sunny’s post received thousands of likes and comments from fans and celebrities, appreciating both his emotion and Dharmendra’s humility.
About the film Ikkis
Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis is based on the real-life story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal, who received the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest wartime bravery award. Arun Khetrapal was only 21 years old when he died fighting courageously during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
Agastya Nanda, who plays the lead role, will make his grand debut with this intense war drama. The film also stars Jaideep Ahlawat in an important supporting role.
The movie was initially set to release in theatres on December 25, 2025. However, due to the strong box-office performance of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, the makers decided to delay the release. Ikkis will now hit cinema halls on January 1, 2026 — the first major Bollywood release of the new year.
A film filled with emotion and legacy
Ikkis holds special value, not only as a patriotic war drama but also as Dharmendra’s final film appearance. His heartfelt words in the video shared by Sunny Deol remind audiences of his kindness, warmth, and his ability to connect with people beyond borders.
Fans are now eagerly waiting to watch the film and celebrate Dharmendra’s legacy on the big screen — one last time, under the direction of a filmmaker known for emotional depth and storytelling mastery.
