She’s urging people not to take the explanation at face value and wants clear answers about what really happened. Instead of quietly accepting the official story, Rani is determined to uncover the truth behind her son's untimely and mysterious death.



Rani Kapur Seeks Truth Behind Son’s Death

Rani Kapur believes that her son Sunjay Kapur’s death at a polo match in London is being wrongly called a simple cardiac arrest. Through her lawyer, senior advocate Vaibhav Gaggar, she shared just how painful it is to see the tragedy dismissed as a “freak accident.” According to her, the explanation reported in the news doesn't fit what really happened. She suspects there’s more behind her son’s sudden death and is asking for a proper investigation so the real story can come to light.



He added that she won’t stay silent until the truth is fully acknowledged.



Rani Kapur has revealed that soon after her son’s death, she felt pressured to sign documents while she was still grieving and emotionally overwhelmed. Now, she’s calling for the cancellation of the Sona Group’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) planned for today, urging that no new directors should be appointed given the current situation and unresolved questions


Her lawyer, Vaibhav Gaggar, confirmed that although no legal action has been started yet, Rani

 Kapur has asked for the AGM to be postponed and is keeping all her legal options open.

Remembering Sunjay Kapur

Sunjay Kapur, who served as the chairman of Sona Comstar, sadly passed away after experiencing a heart attack while playing polo in London on June 12, 2025. His final rites took place at the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground in South Delhi on June 19, surrounded by close family and friends.


Personal Life

Sunjay was well-known not only for his business achievements but also his personal story:


He married Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor in 2003. Together, they had two children—Samaira, born in 2005, and Kiaan, born in 2011.


The couple went through a separation, filing for divorce in 2014 and formally ending their marriage in 2016.


After his divorce, Sunjay found love again with Priya Sachdev, and they had a son, Azarias.


Sunjay’s sudden loss leaves a gap felt deeply by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
