Sophia Qureshi Comes from Indian Military Family her Grandfather served in the Indian Army and she Married to an Officer from the Mechanisd Infantry.
Her Grand father served in Indian Army as a Religious Teacher.
Her Husband is an Officer in the Indian Army's Mechanized Infantry.
Colonel Sophia Career:-
She has also served for six years with UN Peacekeeping Operations (PKO), including a notable stint in the United Nations Mission in Congo (2006). She once described her peacekeeping duties as involving the monitoring of ceasefires and supporting humanitarian efforts in conflict zones. She called it a “proud moment” and encouraged other women in the armed forces to “work hard for the country and Make Everyone proud."
Operation Sindoor:-
The Ministry of Defence on Thursday (May 8, 2025) said that Pakistan military attempted to engage military targets in other places, including Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh. However, the attempts were foiled.
On the night of 07-08 May 2025, Pakistan attempted to engage a number of military targets in Northern and Western India including Awanti pura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj, using drones and missiles. These were neutralised by the Integrated Counter UAS Grid and Air Defence systems.” Ministry of Defence said.
The debris of these attacks is now being recovered from a number of locations that prove the Pakistani attacks.
51 others injured as the Pakistan Army resorted to heavy mortar shelling and firing on villages, in four districts close to the Line of Control (LoC) in J&K on Wednesday (May 7, 2025). One Indian soldier was killed in “unprovoked shelling by Pakistani forces” close to the LoC in the Poonch sector, officials said.
