Pakistan launched loitering munitions towards multiple location


India’s air defence units fired back on Thursday after Pakistan launched loitering munitions towards multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir, including Jammu airport. Sirens rang out across the region as blackouts were enforced in Jammu, Samba, and Amritsar. Former top police official Shesh Paul Vaid confirmed explosions and power outages in Jammu. The attacks took place as India continues ‘Operation Sindoor’ against cross-border terrorism.



Pakistan launched a sudden airborne assault on Thursday evening, using loitering munitions to target key sites across Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian military responded by activating its air defence systems, firing back at the incoming threats. The escalation unfolded as India’s security forces press on with.

Sirens wailed across Jammu and the nearby Samba district, as air defence units sprang into action. The loud booms of interception fire echoed through the hills, sending residents scrambling indoors.

Drones spotted over the city & Targeted Jammu Airport 

One of the primary targets was Jammu city’s airport. While there has been no official damage report, the assault triggered widespread alarm. Residents across Kashmir reported hearing explosions and high-pitched sirens.



Local media outlets showed footage of suspected drones flying over the city. Their presence added a layer of urgency to the situation as military personnel scoured the skies for more incoming devices.


A complete blackout was enforced in Samba district shortly after the attack began. Darkness fell on Jammu city too, plunging homes, shops, and public roads into sudden silence and shadow.


By late evening, visuals from Jammu showed empty streets and an eerie quiet. No new explosions had been reported at that time, though tension hung heavy in the air.


Shesh Paul Vaid, former Director General of Police in Jammu and a current resident of the city, confirmed the intensity of the situation. Taking to social media, he wrote: “Bombing, shelling, or missile strikes suspected.” He also noted the blackout in the city following a series of loud blasts.

His remarks offered the first direct confirmation from a senior local figure, as official channels remained silent


Air Defence Response 

India’s air defence guns fired back immediately on Thursday evening after Pakistan launched loitering munitions across Jammu and Kashmir.


 The response came a day after ‘Operation Sindoor’, a counter-terror operation targeting Pakistan-supported militancy in the region.

One of the main targets was Jammu city’s airport.


 Sirens rang out across Jammu and Samba districts.


 Residents reported loud explosions and power shutdowns.



Drones Spotted over Jammu

Local news channels broadcast visuals of suspected drones flying over Jammu city.

Former Top Cop Confirms Explosions


 Shesh Paul Vaid, former Director General of Police and a resident of Jammu, stated on social media:


“Bombing, shelling, or missile strikes suspected.”

 He confirmed a complete blackout in the city and loud blasts earlier in the evening
